Frost & Sullivan has honoured Moventas, one of the world’s leading gear manufacturers, with the 2012 European Customer Value Enhancement Award. Frost & Sullivan’s recent research is based on genuine customer feedback.

“End user feedback indicates that Moventas exceeds the industry’s gearbox servicing needs. The company’s ability to either repair or rebuild gearboxes from other manufacturers and supply spare parts for almost any gearbox application ensures a hassle-free, single point-of-contact for all servicing needs in this market,” notes Frost & Sullivan Power Transmission Research Analyst Ramasubramanian Natarajan .

Moventas is a pioneer in gearbox service technology, offering one-stop solutions to meet the ever-increasing service demands of the European industrial segment. Its extensive field services range from repairs, replacements and refabricating to rebuilds, spare parts and condition management for almost any gearbox.

“Moventas has foreseen its customers’ needs for professional, preventive service. We have systematically developed our services since 2008, growing our approach into a one-stop-shop to support our end customers. This has shown to be the right decision for us as well as the customers,” comments Antti Turunen, Vice President of New Products in the Moventas Service business area.

State-of-the-art plants in Finland and Germany allow Moventas to carry out repair, rebuild, and spare parts production in a timely and efficient manner. Moventas is in the process of a global rollout of its mobile workshops to meet on-site service demands within the wind power and overall industrial gearboxes segments. The service reduces the downtime and cost associated with transporting the gearbox to a service facility.

Moventas’ remote diagnostics service – Condition Management System (CMaS) – is web-enabled, allowing the system to collect information and send it to the experts at Moventas’ remote diagnostics center in Finland. Moventas’ team can then provide fully informed service recommendations based on the data they have received.

“CMaS also allows for early fault detection and critical preventative maintenance that will ultimately reduce downtime and operating costs. This service is a one-of-a-kind in this market, giving Moventas a significant competitive advantage,” states Natarajan .

The Frost & Sullivan Award for Customer Value Enhancement is presented each year to the company that has demonstrated excellence in implementing strategies that proactively create value for its customers with a focus on improving the return on the investment that customers make in its services or products. This Award recognises the company’s inordinate focus on enhancing the value that its customers receive, beyond simply good customer service, leading to improved customer retention and ultimately customer base expansion.
