STX France Receives Order for Offshore Substation for Wind Farm in Northern Europe

STX France SA has received an order to build one offshore substation due for delivery in 2014 for a wind farm in Northern Europe. STX France SA has received an order to build one offshore substation due for delivery in 2014 for a wind farm in Northern Europe.

STX France will perform the detail design and deliver the substation topside module, the jacket foundation and the piles.

The contract will represent around 150 000 man-hours. Construction is expected to start early 2013.

“We are proud to have been selected for the fabrication of this offshore substation. This is a very important step to us rewarding 3 years of efforts to enter this promising new market of marine renewable energy” says Laurent Castaing, General Manager of STX France.
