Odfjell Drilling was awarded BP’s Key Supplier Safety Award last week for the company’s services in connection with BP’s activities in the North Sea. BP recognises in particular Odfjell Drilling’s services on the Harding platform, where there have been no “days away from work cases” for nine consecutive years.
“We are proud and honoured to receive this Safety Award. We recognise BP’s determination and relentless efforts to continuously improve its safety standards. The award is first and foremost well-deserved recognition of the conscious and compliant planning and hard work put in by all my colleagues who are involved in providing services for BP,” says Simen Lieungh, CEO of Odfjell Drilling.
The Safety Award was presented at BP’s Strategic Supplier Forum in Aberdeen, where the British oil company had invited 75 of its suppliers to North Sea upstream activities.
BP has published the following statement on its internal website:
“Odfjell has provided Platform drilling services to several of BP’s UKCS installations since 2009. We recognised Odfjell for their performance in continuation of DAFWC (Days away from work case) free operations on the Harding platform. Prior to Odfjell assuming responsibility there had been 9 years of DAFWC free drilling which Odfjell has continued over the last 3 years. Inheriting this level of performance and maintaining it is a substantial challenge and one which has been met excellently by the company.”
Odfjell Drilling performs platform drilling and engineering services for BP on five offshore production installations (Andrew, Bruce, Clair, Magnus and Harding). The work is carried out under a five-year contract awarded in 2009.
Odfjell Drilling also performs platform drilling services for Statoil and Talisman in the North Sea. In all, Odfjell Drilling is responsible for drilling operations on 20 production installations on the UK and Norwegian continental shelf.
