Kleenheat Gas’ EVOL LNG said it has won a significant contract with Silver Lake Resources at its Murchison Gold Project for the supply of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).
The agreement between EVOL LNG and Silver Lake Resources will see EVOL LNG supplying up to 11,000 tonnes of LNG per annum to the Murchison Gold Project for use in the generation of power for gold processing activities.
“ EVOL LNG is delighted to be working with Silver Lake Resources, a very successful Western Australian gold miner and is looking forward to further growth opportunities that may develop, particularly in the Murchison Gold Project ” said Kleenheat Gas General Manager, Graham Smith .
“ The use of LNG has become more attractive over time to the remote power generation market due to cleaner burning and better economy compared to diesel ”.
The contract also includes 140 tonnes of LNG storage and associated vaporisation to be installed and is expected to be ready for LNG supply in the third quarter of 2013.
“ LNG provides flexibility for companies operating remote power stations, with LNG delivery vehicles acting as a virtual pipeline, eliminating the need for significant capital investment in lateral extensions from major natural gas pipelines ” Mr Smith said.
“ This project underpins some important growth for EVOL LNG, with the contract representing up to 17 per cent of our LNG plant’s current capacity .”
EVOL LNG is a leading provider of liquefied natural gas to the heavy-duty vehicle, industrial heating and remote power generation markets in Australia, and is part of Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy & Fertilisers, one of eight divisions of Wesfarmers Limited.
