CARIS and EIVA have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on providing offshore survey organizations with a tightly integrated and streamlined solution.

Both companies develop state-of-the-art software for the marine offshore market. CARIS is a world leader in software for hydrographic organizations, marine GIS, and geospatial data management, and EIVA is a world leader in survey data acquisition, 3D modelling, and visualization.

Through this partnership the two organizations join forces to provide a world leading solution for offshore survey projects that includes acquiring and processing survey data through to managing and manipulating the data in an enterprise GIS environment.

Going beyond data compatibility

The collaboration goes beyond data compatibility. The software product lines from EIVA and CARIS are in the process of being further integrated. Consequently the end-user will experience a seamless workflow without data conversions and with the choice to use the individual modules as needed and in desired order.

EIVA’s NaviPac survey acquisition software is supported by CARIS’ popular HIPS and SIPS data processing software. Processed bathymetry from HIPS and SIPS is available for further manipulation, including pipeline inspection work in EIVA’s sophisticated NaviModel 3D application. NaviModel also has the ability to utilize CARIS’ Bathy DataBASE for data storage and retrieval, and allows delivery of digital datasets utilizing standard geospatial formats.

“ This initiative will produce the optimum integrated solution for marine survey applications available in the market – fully supported by two companies specializing in marine survey. Existing EIVA and CARIS customers as well as new customers will benefit from this collaboration” , says Jeppe Nielsen, CEO of EIVA .

“CARIS prides itself on state-of-the-art software solutions and EIVA shares this same objective. The software is very complimentary, by streamlining the workflow we can provide efficiency and additional functionality for our users “, said Dr. Salem Masry, CEO of CARIS . “ Just as importantly the companies share similar values and cultures, we are both committed to customer satisfaction.”

Workshop at Ocean Business in the UK

CARIS and EIVA plan to hold a workshop to introduce their joint solution at the Ocean Business event taking place April 9 to 11 in Southampton, UK.
