Hereby we bring you a short video of an innovating vessel design for heavy marine transport and offshore dry-docking developed by Dockwise and Delta Marine. Dockwise Vanguard is the first vessel of this design and it is the largest heavy lift vessel in the world.
Dockwise Vanguard is a semi-submersible heavy transport vessel (SSHTV) built by Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) in Ulsan for the Dutch shipping company Dockwise.
“Our new vessel has the potential to create a new market of its own. The name ‘Dockwise Vanguard’ refers to the forefront of a movement or, in our case, an innovation in the Heavy Marine Transport Industry. ‘Dockwise Vanguard’ also indirectly refers to our new vessel’s revolutionary bowless design, which will allow entire, intact super structures to be transported as the total length of the vessel’s deck can be used. We look forward to having our Dockwise Vanguard at the helm of a new market,” André Goedée, CEO Dockwise .
The decision to invest in this unique new vessel once again underlines Dockwise’s view towards the future and the position of the organization at the premium end of the heavy marine transport industry. Dockwise has determined that there is a growing desire to develop larger structures for the deepwater development of hydrocarbons and is convinced this investment to be key.
