The deadline for bids for a tidal demonstration project in the Bay of Fundy is extended for six months, so the developers have time to apply for the project until September 30.

The provincial Energy Department announced this on Wednesday, stating that the province wants to wait until the regulator sets a feed-in tariff for tidal projects. The deadline for bids could be extended again, if the tariff is not set by August 31, The Chronicle Herald reports.

The bidding process involves the fourth berth at a Parrsboro-area test site, as three berths at the Minas Passage have already been taken by developers.
