Finnish Sance-Sandelin Consulting and Engineering Ltd has started cooperation with leading Norwegian Offshore and Marine industry company, Bergen Group. The contract is made between Sance and Bergen Group’s Fosen (BGF) Shipyard. The contract includes providing support in forms of HVAC and technical interior engineering.
“This contract has made in consideration of long term cooperation with BGF. When starting new cooperation with new partner in smaller scope of work, it gives the space for the learning process for both parties. In the beginning is important to learn the practices, working processes, to understand the company’s working culture and to getting know the company generally. We are very happy about this contract with BGF and we see that the cooperation will be very successful for both parties ,” says Mr. Kalle Sandelin, CEO of Sance.
“By this contract three of our engineers are now participating in Fosen’s project, Ropax 87, but not only as drawers but also as system responsible persons. We have good amount of knowledge in our engineering team and it’s delightful to be able to offer support in versatile ways. We’re very happy to have this possibility to show our capabilities for our new partner Fosen shipyard ,” notes Ms. Arja Saapunki, International Marketing/HR Director of Sance.
“We have made market researches about Norway area and have been approaching new possible Norwegian clients for some time now. We have had extra focus on the Norwegian marine and offshore area, so this contract is a wonderful step to the right direction ,” describes Mr. Sandelin.
Bergen Group Fosen is an international shipyard which was established in 1918 in Rissa, Norway. The yard offers shipbuilding, conversion and repair facilities and services for shipping companies and ship owners. Over the years the yard has carried out RoRo/Ropax, Cruise and Offshore Vessel projects successfully through. The shipyard has been family owned company till 2007, when the group of 6 Norwegian investors took the yard over. More changes came to the ownership in 2008 when the Bergen Group ASA bought the yard and the yard became part of the Bergen Group Shipbuilding Division.
