Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. has received an order to build five state-of-the-art 14,000TEU Containerships for Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” Line).
The order comes from “K” Line’s decision to replace its existing fleet with a new generation of eco-friendly Ultra Large Container Vessels (ULCVs), all in order to strengthen efficiency and cost competitiveness of its Containership Business.
The delivery of the vessels is expected to take place from spring to summer 2015.
