Arctic offshore vessel Aleksey Chirikov left on four-day sea trials on 19 March 2013. Arctech Helsinki Shipyard is building two identical offshore ice-breaking supply vessels for Russia’s largest shipping group Sovcomflot (SCF Group).

The first vessel of the series, Vitus Bering, was delivered in December 2012 and has reached its destination at Sakhalin area in Far East Russia.

Aleksey Chirikov is the second vessel of the series and will be delivered in April 2013. The building of the vessel has proceeded in accordance with the schedule. The sea trials stage serves as a way to assure the functionality of a vessel’s systems before delivery. After the sea trials, the final works on Aleksey Chirikov will continue at Helsinki Shipyard.
