ACD has been engaged by DSME to engineer and supply two high pressure LNG fuel gas pump systems for new 173,400 cbm ME-GI LNG carriers for TEEKAY Shipping Ltd, with options to order up to three additional systems. The vessel will be Det Norske Veritas (DNV) classified and meet or exceed environmental standards.
Delivery of the LNG fuel gas pump systems is expected to begin no later than February 2015. The new vessel delivery is scheduled for the first half of 2016.
The high pressure LNG fuel supply system includes ACD’s model MSP-SL high pressure pumps with gearbox assemblies and electric 150kW inverter duty motors. Also included are an external oil lubrication system and aVWP-190-10 water/glycol vaporizer, supplied by Cryoquip Inc., a Cryogenic Industries Company. All equipment is integrated on a common skid with piping, control valves and monitoring equipment.
ACD entered a supply agreement with Shinhan Machinery (Shinhan) to engineer and supply two high pressure LNG fuel gas pump systems for the first LNG-powered containerships in the world. DSME subsidiaries, DSEC and Shinhan, will provide the complete Fuel Gas System to NASSCO in San Diego where the ships will be built under the U.S. Jones Act. TOTE’s Marlin Class containerships will operate between Jacksonville, Fla. and San Juan P.R., and be ABS classified.

Operating on natural gas derived from LNG, the vessels will significantly decrease emissions while increasing fuel efficiency as compared to conventionally-powered ships. The LNG-powered containerships will also include a ballast water treatment system, making them the greenest ships of their size in the world.
