TAS Energy, a leading provider of thermal energy solutions, announced today that the company delivered major Turbine Inlet Chilling (TIC) modules to Bechtel for an LNG project in Australia.

The TIC system will deliver 14,000 TR (49,238 kWth) to the gas turbines running the compressors for the liquefaction process to ensure consistent inlet air temperature in the turbine fleet.

This is the world’s first TIC application used in the LNG process. The concept of TIC is well known and proven in the power generation industry as it improves the gas turbine’s output when high ambient temperatures negatively impact its efficiency and performance, thus improving the overall plant’s MW production. For the LNG process, having a consistent turbine inlet air temperature stabilizes compressor power input, maximizes LNG plant production, and optimizes compressor selection.

“TAS Energy is proud to have been selected to deliver these critical TIC modules in support of our customer’s important work in the global LNG market,” said J.T. Grumski, President & CEO of TAS Energy. “The Australia LNG projects are all substantially significant to the Asia Pacific region and the energy market as a whole and we’re honored to be a part of it.”

TAS Energy’s fabrication facility in Houston, TX includes 250,000 sqft of manufacturing space and the capacity to support delivery of 100+ large modular systems per year.
