Qatar has loaded the third and fourth shipments of liquefied natural gas at Ras Laffan port as aid for the Egyptian people, according to Qatar’s state news agency (QNA).

The LNG carrier carrying the third shipment has departed from Ras Laffan port, and the fourth LNG shipment is expected to leave on Thursday evening.

An unidentified official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told QNA that the fifth and the final gift shipment was expected to be loaded in September.

Qatar, the world’s largest LNG producer, will supply Egypt with LNG to help the country with its fuel demand over the peak summer period.

Last June, Qatar agreed to donate five LNG shipments to Egypt to be supplied to the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation.
