Central Industry Group N.V. (CIG) announced the strategical repositioning of the company as an innovation-driven, technologically advanced conglomerate operating in various areas of steel-constructional design, engineering and production, with shipbuilding as a core activity.
CIG’s success has been the result of synergy between the separate group members. While operating independently in their own product market combinations, they also cooperate within various projects. “ This synergetic effect has led to an abundance of opportunities. A repositioning will allow us to optimise the added value for our clients, ” says Jan Koopmans, chairman and chief executive officer.
CIG’s repositioning entails a shift from being an incidental shipbuilder to a reliable, long-term partner for brokers and ship-owners worldwide. “ What discriminates us from most other shipbuilders is that we build our ships in European yards, against Western European standards, but cost-effectively and ingenious logistics, keeping both building costs and time-to-market as low as possible ” adds Jan Koopmans.
Following-up on recent synergetic shipbuilding projects, such as the successful launch of the VG6000 multipurpose special cargo vessel, CIG now announces an focus on shipbuilding activities. The VG6000 is a unique mix between a general cargo vessel and an offshore supply vessel, the result of CIG’s innovative power, design, engineering and shipbuilding knowledge. Its flexibility and versatility has made the VG6000 widely appreciated in both offshore and cargo shipping.
CIG proudly presents the VG6000, among other successful releases, at Europort 2013, held in Rotterdam from 5 – 8 November.
