China’s Jiangsu Hantong has signed shipbuilding contracts for five 82, 000 dwt bulk carriers with Japanese Shipowner Nisshin, a repeat customer of the shipyard.
The vessels will be built in New Hantong with expected completion and delivery scheduled for around 30th November, 2016.
Jiangsu Hantong Ship Heavy Industry Co. Ltd. (HTS) secured an order for the construction of another bulker duo of 38,800 DWT from the same owner. The vessels are slated for delivery in the second half of 2015.
Prompted by a depressed market, Japanese shipowner Nisshin Shipping is pursuing an aggressive fleet expansion plan.
