Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) and Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) in Korea and Cosco Shipyard in China have selected KONGSBERG’s “Full Picture” solution with extensive Dynamic Positioning (DP), Automation, Navigation, Hydroacoustic positioning and riser management solutions for a total of nine advanced Offshore Drilling Units, one accommodation Unit, one Multipurpose Construction Vessel and four LNG vessels with Integrated Automation System valued at a total of more than 400 MNOK (circa 50 mil euros).
One of the contracts with SHI is for two advanced Drilling Jackups of GustoMSC CJ70 design, equipped with Full Picture Solution from Kongsberg. This contract is an important project for KONGSBERG in the new and growing market in Korea.
