Danish Yachts launched, on Nov 23rd, another SWATH (Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull), the ‘Sea Hurricane’. Due for handover during December, the vessel is the fourth in the ongoing series of carbon fibre passenger carrying vessels for the wind farm industry.
With its unique ballast system that allows the vessel to switch from high speed catamaran mode into SWATH almost instantly, the SWATH can operate efficiently and safe in all weather conditions.
Sea Hurricane has the overall length of 25 metres, there is ample space for 24 passengers and 5 crew over a range of around 500 nautical miles. In addition for passenger and crew safety while transferring to the platform, the vessel is fitted with the base to use a gyro transfer gangway.
The vessel will now undergo her formal sea trials prior to handover.
