A keel laying ceremony of the fourth ship in the series of LNG carriers with 170 000 cbm membrane cargo tanks took place on Monday at the STX Offshore & Shipbuilding shipyard, the Republic of Korea. The ships are constructed under RS survey by order of Sovcomflot.

According to the design, the ships of this series will be fitted with a triple-fuel diesel-electric propulsion plant allowing the use of LNG as fuel, thus enabling the reduction of NOx and SOx emissions to the atmosphere.

Launching of the LNG carrier is scheduled for the end of January 2014.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for February 2, 2014, and the vessel will be chartered by Shell on long-term basis.
