BW Orders Second FSRU from Samsung Heavy

BW said it has exercised an option for a second Liquefied Natural Gas Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (LNG FSRU) with Samsung Heavy Industries of South Korea. BW said it has exercised an option for a second Liquefied Natural Gas Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (LNG FSRU) with Samsung Heavy Industries of South Korea.

Scheduled for delivery in 2016, this new FSRU adds to the first FSRU ordered in January 2013 and now brings the total FSRU units in BW’s fleet to two.

These newbuildings will be constructed with DFDE engines and direct seawater cooling regasification system.

Says Yngvil Ashiem, Managing Direct of BW Shipping , “ ordering our second FSRU shows BW’s firm commitment to be a trusted provider to our customers in this sector .”
