Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. (HMD) from South Korea has secured two contracts from which the yard will make USD 607.6 million in total.
Namely, Hyundai Mipo has been awarded a contract for the construction of 14 (fourteen) product tankers worth USD 572.6 million.
The vessels have been ordered by Britain’s BP Shipping Ltd.
Hyundai Mipo further revealed in a regulatory filing to the Korea Stock Exchange that it will deliver the vessels by July 2017.
What is more, other news portals reported that the Greek shipping company TOP Ships booked a 39,000-dwt ECO-type product/chemical tanker at the same yard. The value of this contract is USD 35 million. The delivery is scheduled for the third quarter of 2015.
