Uljanik shipyard launched, on Dec 14th, the first of two RO-PAX ferries designed for the transportation of passengers, trucks and other vehicles in the Caspian Sea region, the Berkarar (Yard No. 501).
The vessel is being built for “State Service of Maritime and River Transportation“ company from Turkmenistan.
The Berkarar is 155.8 m long, 17.5 m wide and will be driven by two four-stroke engines, each having a power of 3,060 kW.
The contract for the construction of yard No. 501 was signed in August 2012.
