Ocean Rig UDW Inc., a global provider of offshore deepwater drilling services, yesterday announced that it successfully took delivery of its newbuilding drillship, the Ocean Rig Skyros, on Friday, December 20, 2013.
The drillship is currently mobilizing to offshore Angola to commence drilling operations with Total.
The company owns and operates 11 offshore ultra deepwater drilling units, comprising of 2 ultra deepwater semisubmersible drilling rigs and 9 ultra deepwater drillships, 1 of which is scheduled to be delivered to the company during 2014 and 2 of which are scheduled to be delivered during 2015.
