General Manager of Dredge Yard, Basel Yousef, recently presented his perspective on dredging market and what has led to a growing demand of dredge equipment in the Middle East.
He believes that as a dredging equipment supplier, Dredge Yard has been quick to capitalize on the growing demand in the Middle East and set up its Dubai office a couple of years ago to better serve the region.
New projects have been launched in Middle East recently while other ports have been getting extension or modification. The huge size of those projects requires the biggest size dredgers deployed by local and abroad contractors.
He also added that in recent years a lot of new systems have been established to prevent pollution. He mentioned the case of grease-less ball joint, the latest development of Dredge Yard, which connects the long and heavy dredging pipes together without the need of grease that spills out in the water.
