Inverlussa Marine Services has been confirmed the order for its latest vessel with Macduff Shipyards, due to be delivered January 2015, to be named “Helen Mary”.
Following delivery of “Helen Burnie”from Macduff Shipyards in May 2012 Inverlussa have been working with the Shipyard and Macduff Ship Design to develop a modified version with more beam and extended accommodation of six cabins to increase flexibility in an ever changing market.
“Helen Mary”will be built to BV I Hull Mach Special Service / Diving Support / Anchor Handling Ship unrestricted Navigation, and will operate coastal cargo, civil engineering and renewable energy support, fish farm service work, and general towing work.
The triple screw vessel will be capable of carrying 125 tonnes of deck cargo, and will also have a dry hold plus facilities for cargo fuel and water transfer.
A 146 tonne/metre deck crane with 17.5m reach will enhance the vessels varied capabilities.
Caterpillar will supply the engine package, propulsion will be provided by three 600HP C18.
Design work is being advanced for an early start to construction, following the plan approval process.
A spokesperson for the Shipyard said that they were very pleased to receive this repeat order from Inverlussa, and were looking forward to working with them again.
