Louisiana LNG Energy (LLNG) has filed an application with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to export two million metric tons of LNG per annum for a term of 25 years to nations without a free trade agreement (FTA) with the United States.
The company filed an application on Febraury 5 for authorization to export 2 MTPA of LNG to FTA nations.
“ Through this Application, LLNG is not seeking to export any additional volumes of LNG from its proposed LNG facility, but rather is seeking to expand the countries to which such LNG may be exported ,” the company said in a statement.
LLNG plans to export LNG from a proposed facility to be constructed on a 200 acre site near mile marker 46 on the East Bank of the Mississippi River down-river from the Port of New Orleans in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana.
The liquefaction facility will consist of four 74,380 Mcf/d liquefaction trains with an annual capacity of approximately 100 Bcf (or two MTPA) of LNG.
