Petrobras, Mitsui Ink MoU for LNG Terminal Feasibility Study

Petrobras of Brazil signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Japan’s Mitsui and the Government of Rio Grande do Sul to prepare a study for building an LNG import terminal.

LNG regasification terminal in Rio Grande do Sul would be Petrobras’ fourth LNG import terminal. The deadline for completion of the feasibility study is 12 months from the signing of the memorandum.

The ceremony took place in Piratini Palace in Porto Alegre, and was signed by Alcides Santoro, Director of Gas and Energy Petrobras, Tarso Genro, the governor of Rio Grande do Sul and Tatsuhiro Sato, the executive director of Mitsui.
