China Shipping Development (CSDC), a unit of China Shipping Group, has decided to order three LNG carriers for the Yamal LNG project in Russia, the company said in a statement.
CSDC said that the shipbuilding contracts and the time charter deals for the three LNG carriers will be officially signed this month.
The three carriers will be owned by three separate joint venture companies, a partnership between CSDC’s China Shipping LNG and Japan’s Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) in Hong Kong.
