Indonesia’s Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) will receive the first LNG cargo at its new FSRU located 6 km offshore Lampung this week.

“ We have approved the signing of the free-on-board LNG sale and purchase agreement and the confirmation notice between Tangguh and PGN over the selling of one 3.32 million British thermal units cargo to the FSRU Lampung,” u pstream oil and gas regulator (SKK Migas) acting head J.Widjonarko said in a statement.

“ From the Lampung FSRU, the gas will be supplied to the electricity sector and industry in West Java, which are connected through the South Sumatra West Java pipeline. The Lampung FSRU will also supply gas to Sumatra, ” Widjonarko added.

This shipment is one of five planned to be delivered to the FSRU in Lampung from Tangguh in 2014.

The FSRU, owned by Höegh LNG and chartered to PGN for a period of 20 years, reached a milestone on 17 May when the installation and connection of the FSRU and the tower yoke mooring system were finalized on site offshore Lampung.

The FSRU is capable of receiving 2 million tons of LNG per annum.
