UK PM Names New Energy Minister

UK Prime Minister David Cameron is currently reshuffling his Cabinet and announcing new ministerial appointments. UK Prime Minister David Cameron is currently reshuffling his Cabinet and announcing new ministerial appointments.

Matthew Hancock is appointed as Minister of State at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, Minister of State at the Department of Energy and Climate Change and Minister of State for Portsmouth.

He takes the place of Michael Fallon MP, who had been the Energy Minister from March 29, 2013. Michael Fallon is now appointed as Defence Secretary.

Minister Hancock was appointed Minister of State for Skills and Enterprise in October 2013. He is the Conservative MP for West Suffolk.

He was educated at Farndon County Primary School, West Cheshire College and The King’s School, Chester. He gained a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Exeter College, University of Oxford, and a Masters Degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge.
