Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that Russia may be ready to adopt protective measures for the aircraft, shipbuilding and auto industries, as well as other industries originating from countries that imposed sanctions against Russia.
Medvedev said that the decision comes in the wake of the recently imposed order by the Russian President Vladimir Putin aimed at putting embargo on a wide range of imports from the European Union, the United States, Australia, Canada and the Kingdom of Norway.
The ban list has been approved for agricultural produce, raw materials and food products for the period of one year.
However, the Russian Government also stated that they realize the significance of cooperation in these spheres, opting for a realistic approach while considering their opportunities.
The resolution in question has been adopted to implement Presidential Executive Order No 560 of August 6, 2014 On Adopting Special Economic Measures to Provide for Security of the Russian Federation.
”These restrictions shall be introduced starting today (August 7), and for a period of 12 months. However, if our partners display a constructive approach towards cooperation issues, then the Government would be willing to revise the specific implementation deadlines for these measures,” Prime Minister Medvedev said.
