We Tech equipment for Terntank LNG-powered tankers

WE Tech Solutions and Wärtsilä signed a contract for the delivery of four shaft generator solutions to a series of LNG fuelled tankers.

Based in Vaasa, Finland, WE Tech is to deliver its direct drive permanent magnet shaft generator solution to a series of four LNG powered 15,000 DWT product tankers ordered by Terntank in Denmark.

The tankers will be built by the Chinese shipyard Avic Dingheng Shipbuilding. Equipment delivery will commence in April, 2015, the company said in a statement.

“ With the WE DriveTM and Direct Drive Permanent Magnet Shaft Generator in power take out (PTO) mode, the available power for the vessel’s electrical network is up to 600 kW, generated by a 2-stroke, low pressure, dual-fuel main engine ,” WE Tech Solutions said.
