A UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) event to be held in Hull next week will be ‘an excellent opportunity’ to showcase the Humber as the UK’s Energy Estuary, a leading hub for the renewable energy sector.

Trade and investment advisors from around the globe will be attending an event at the Guildhall in Hull on December 2nd and 3rd to gain a valuable overview of the emerging energy market in Hull. They will learn about the renewable, oil and gas and nuclear sectors and gain insight into the exciting developments that are happening in the Humber region.

Hull City Council Leader, Councillor Stephen Brady commented:

“We delighted that UKTI are bringing their energy event to Hull. It presents the ideal opportunity to showcase the Hull and Humber area as the UK’s Energy Estuary. The Siemens and ABP investment at Green Port Hull will create a catalyst for further development in the area and truly establish the city and the region as the UK capital for renewable energy.”

Tim Rix, Chairman of the Green Port Growth Programme , said:

“As the UKTI trade and investment advisors play a key role in attracting overseas investors to the UK, the event is a great chance for us to present how the energy sector is rapidly developing in Hull and the Humber. We can also provide them with a detailed view of the business development opportunities available in the region for potential overseas investors.”
