Singapore-based Cosco Group has through its subsidiary Cosco (Guangdong) Shipyard Co., Ltd., secured a contract to build one 4500 square meter livestock carrier for Holland-based shipping company Vroon.
This is the seventh livestock carrier Cosco is building for Vroon. Four of these livestock carriers have already been delivered to the company. Two vessels (Gloucester Express and Greyman Express) will be delivered during 2015, with the seventh vessel scheduled for completion in 2016.
The contract is valued at approximately USD 30 million. Additionally, Vroon has an option to contract Cosco to construct a vessel of similar characteristics within 6 months.
