The SeaGen tidal turbine inspection and maintenance work is planned to start on December 15th in Strangford Lough.

As Marine Current Turbines (MCT) informed the crossbeam will be raised for a period of 3 days.

When the crossbeam of the SeaGen turbine is raised above the water it presents a 43 meters wide obstruction in the narrows at a height of 5.9 meters from chart datum.

Prior to the crossbeam being raised or lowered, the notification broadcasts will be made on VHF Ch67, said the company.

During the works all vessels will be requested to keep at least 50 meters distance from the turbine.
