JSC “Belfreight” will supply the Gazprom-operated drilling platform “Prirazlomnaya” with reusable offshore containers, the company has said in a press release.
Specialized offshore containers of diverse modification are used to deliver equipment and provision to offshore drilling rig.
According to Belfreight its containers, all built in Russia, are highly durable and robust, ensuring their safe transshipment from a supply vessel to a platform at sea.
Prirazlomnaya
The Prirazlomaya platform is located on the Pechora Sea shelf, 60 kilometres offshore, and is designed to operate in extreme natural and weather conditions. According to Gazprom, a full range of technological operations can be performed on the Prirazlomnaya platform, including drilling, oil extraction, storage, treatment and shipping.
The platform, beside the fact that it is the first Arctic-class ice-resistant oil platform in the world, raised media attention after Greenpeace activists climbed aboard in September, 2013.
