Geir Arne Solheim, Havkraft’s CEO, has joined the International Energy Agency (IEA) Marine Renewable board of directors.
Solheim was selected by The Norwegian Wind Energy Association (NORWEA), a trade organization that works to promote Norwegian renewable energy production, including wave and tidal energy.
“This is a unique opportunity to be in the forefront of the global industry, to gain experience and to contribute with our knowledge into a great organization,” said Solheim.
The International Energy Agency (IEA) is an autonomous organisation which works to ensure reliable, affordable and clean energy for its 29 member countries and beyond.
Havkraft, a Norwegian based wave energy developer, has recently concluded the first testing phase of their wave energy converter (H-WEC) that was deployed off the coast of Norway in December. The company expects to build a full scale demonstration plant in 2015.
