The UK Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) published the outcome of the first allocation round of Contracts for Difference (CfD) this morning, at the same time the National Gid notified applicants of the outcome.

Among 27 awarded projects, two offshore wind farms have been selected as winner projects of this CfD round: phase one of the East Anglia 1, developed by ScottishPower Renewables, and Mainstream Renewable Power’s Neart na Gaoithe offshore wind farm.

The 448MW Neart na Gaoithe is scheduled to be delivered in 2018/19 at a strike price of GBP 114.39, while the first phase (714MW) of East Anglia 1, which will built in three phases, will be delivered in 2017/18 at a strike price of GBP 119.89.

ScottishPower Renewables stated on its website that it will develop the East Anglia 1 project on its own, while the rest of the East Anglia zone will be developed in cooperation with Vattenfall.

DECC informed that it will not publish any other detail on bids, or on unsuccessful projects.
