Venture Global LNG said that Tom Newton, formerly a Vice President of the AES Corporation, has joined the company as Vice President of Engineering.
Newton will be responsible for the engineering and operations of the CCGT power plant that will generate electricity to power Venture Global’s 10 MMTPA facility in southwestern Louisiana, the company said in a statement.
Newton brings to Venture Global LNG more than 30 years of experience in the engineering, construction and operations of power plants worldwide.
At the AES Corporation, he was responsible for worldwide performance improvement of 123 electric generating plants. Prior to AES, Newton worked for Southern Company and its affiliates as Plant Manager and Director of European Operations.
