Omnitek Engineering said that it has received a follow-on order for 45 Omnitek natural gas engine systems from Czech Republic engine and bus manufacturer Tedom .
The order, which was received at the end of the first quarter, is expected to be shipped in the second quarter. Terms were not disclosed in the company’s statement.
The Tedom 12-liter engine equipped with the Omnitek system will be certified to meet the Euro VI emission standards, tested according to the World Harmonized Transient Cycle.
Omnitek previously revealed that its natural gas engine systems will be utilized in two Tedom natural gas locomotive engines powering a Czech Railways train, under a pilot program with scheduled service three times daily between the Czech cities of Opava and Hlučín. The pilot program is seeking to demonstrate the economic, environmental and practical applications of CNG for rail transportation.
