Australia Pacific LNG project on Curtis Island in Queensland is reportedly looking to find buyers for the first six months of production.
As sources told Reuters APLNG, a joint venture between Origin Energy, ConocoPhillips and Sinopec of China, plans on shipping out spot cargoes during the quarter before the project start loading cargoes under its long-term contracts in April 2016.
It is revealed that a total of 10 LNG cargoes could be dispatched by the end of the year. During the commissioning phase it is expected that two to three cargoes will be shipped out per month.
At peak production, the shipment number could rise to eight cargoes per month.
The facility on Curtis Island consists of two LNG trains, each capable of producing 4.5 Mtpa of LNG.
