Japan’s utility Tokyo Electric Power said its imports of LNG in March were at 2.28 million tonnes, a rise of 3.8 percent compared to March last year.
The utility used 1.95 million tonnes of LNG in March, up 1.5 percent as compared to a year ago.
In April-March period, Tepco bought 24.75 million tonnes and consumed 23.49 million tonnes of LNG.
Tepco is Japan’s first importer of the chilled fuel, and it imports LNG from projects located around the globe.
