Representative of GMB and Unite unions in the UK are taking part in further talks today seeking a resolution of the dispute over what they say are unilateral changes to working conditions for workers covered by the Offshore Contractors Agreement (OCA) in UK waters.
Members of both unions have already voted in a consultative ballot to go ahead with an official ballot for strike action over the imposition of these changes including the work rosters.
Shop stewards from both unions covered by the agreement are scheduled to meet in Aberdeen on Wednesday 13th May to consider the outcome of the talks and the progress of the dispute.
David Hulse , GMB National Officer, said: “Further talks are taking place today with the employers on on-going issues including the 3 weeks on 3 weeks off work rosters as well as pay and other issues. We are trying to find a way forward in these deadlocked talks.”
Back in March, GMB said that proper risk assessments and consultation had not taken place and the new rotas will have an adverse impact on member’s safety, health and quality time.
