The Australia Pacific LNG project on Curtis Island is nearing finalization with the upstream part of the project 93 pct complete and downstream part 89 percent complete.
“ Sustained production from Train 1 is expected in the second quarter of FY2016 and from Train 2 approximately 6 months later ,” Grant King, Managing Director of Origin Energy said in a presentation in Sydney.
According to the presentation, at AUD$100/bbl oil, Origin expects its share of distributable cash flow from APLNG to be around AUD$900 million per annum on average from FY2017.
The APLNG project is a joint venture between ConocoPhillips (37.5%), Origin (37.5%), and Sinopec (25%).
APLNG recently started up the first of seven gas turbine power generators, designed to provide electrical power to the Curtis Island LNG facility.
The LNG facility on Curtis Island off the coast of Gladstone, will have two production trains with the ability to process up to 9 million tonnes per annum.
