LNG player Cheniere Energy has been granted authority by the United States Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to commence all remaining site preparation activities for its Corpus Christi liquefaction project.
FERC informed in its order that it has reviewed Cheniere’s implementation plan and all the supplements filed by April 30, 2015. The IP and supplements included information necessary to meet initial site preparation conditions.
Cheniere must comply with all applicable remaining terms and conditions of the order, as well as procedures stipulated in your previous filings, FERC said, noting that this approval does not grant Cheniere the authority to commence construction of project facilities at the LNG terminal. Additional authorizations will be released once Cheniere has demonstrated full compliance with the conditions of the order.
The Corpus Christi liquefaction project would have a capacity of approximately 15 mtpa of LNG through three liquefaction trains. It would include three 160,000 m3 LNG tanks capable of storing 10.1 Bcf, and will have a maximum continuous regasification rate of 2.6 Bcf/d.
