Pakistan State Oil Company launched its first tender for the supply of liquefied natural gas from June to September, 2015.
According to the tender, PSO is looking for four 143,000 cbm cargoes during the period of four months.
Supply bids are to be submitted by June 9 and stay valid until June 18.
Pakistan, suffering from energy shortages, has recently commissioned its first LNG receiving terminal at Port Qasim.
Three cargoes have already been delivered from Qatar to Excelerate Energy’s 150,900 cbm FSRU Exquisite, chartered by Engro Elengy.
The tender is a good opportunity to “ test the short-term market following successful commissioning of the terminal built in under 300 days ,” Sheikh Imran-ul-Haque, Chief Executive Officer of Engro Elengy , told LNG World News on Monday.
“Pakistan is now on the world LNG map and the country is becoming a serious buyer ,” he added.
Engro Elengy is operating the country’s first LNG import terminal with a capacity for regasification of up to 4.5 million tons of LNG per year.
