Fluxys Belgium said the construction of the second LNG jetty at its Zeebrugge terminal is progressing, and it will be operational from 2016 onwards.
The company informed in a statement that the second LNG jetty, which will be able to receive carriers with an LNG capacity of between 2,000 and 217,000 m³, is part of the company’s total €36.1 million investment expenditure for the first quarter 2015. The company recently informed it has fitted loading and unloading arms to the jetty.
LNG bunkering vessels that load LNG to supply other vessels running on LNG or small-scale LNG bunkering terminals in other ports, are among the vessels that will load at the second jetty.
The company also said it is progressing with the Alveringem-Maldegem pipeline (the Belgian section of the Dunkirk-Zeebrugge cross-border pipeline), scheduled to be operational by the end of 2015.
Fluxys Belgium reported a turnover generated by the services provided by the group of €123.3 million at the end of March 2015, compared with €128.2 million for the same period in 2014, representing a drop of €4.9 million or 3.86 %.
