Transocean Ltd., a drilling contractor, has amended its construction contracts with Singapore’s Keppel FELS to further delay the delivery of its five newbuild high-specification jack-ups.

This is in addition to the six-month delay announced in February 2015. Transocean ordered the rigs in November 2013.

New contracts

In its latest fleet update, Transocean said that the total value of new contracts since its April fleet update is approximately $52 million.

Transocean’s ultra-deepwater semi-submersible rig GSF Development Driller II has been awarded a contract extension for approximately 100 days offshore Romania with Lukoil at a dayrate of $315,000.

India’s ONGC has awarded a contract extension for GSF Rig 140 for approximately 120 days at a dayrate of $156,000.

Erin Energy, formerly known as CAMAC Energy, has awarded a contract extension for 18 days to Sedco Express. The rig is operating on Oyo field, offshore Nigeria, at a dayrate of $300,000.

Three idle

According to the company’s fleet status report, the high-spec floaters Transocean Marianas, GSF Celtic Sea, and M.G. Hulme, Jr. are idle.
