U.S. Department of Energy’s Wind and Water Power Technology Office (WWPTO) has issued a request for information (RFI) on facilitating the development of offshore wind energy in the United States.

WWPTO seeks input from any of the stakeholders in the broader U.S. offshore wind energy community.

The purpose of the RFI is to solicit feedback from stakeholders in the offshore wind energy community on issues related to the Wind and Water Power Technology Office’s strategic approach to facilitating the development of offshore wind energy in the United States.

Specifically, the WWPTO seeks to better understand the relative value of Technology Advancement, Market Barrier Removal, and Crosscutting Activities as well as a broader strategic view of the WWPTO portfolio.

The Wind and Water Power Technologies Office (WWPTO) operates within the Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (DOE-EERE). The Office’s mission is to lead the nation’s efforts to research and develop innovative technologies, lower the costs, and accelerate the development of wind power.
