Petrofac, the international oil and gas facilities service provider, has been awarded a contract to support maintenance management system (MMS) implementation for Bumi Armada’s floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO), the Armada Kraken bound for the North Sea.
These services will be performed by Bumi Armada supported by Plant Asset Management, the asset performance management consulting business within Petrofac.
Converted from a Suezmax ice class tanker, the FPSO will be deployed in the East Shetland Basin. The Kraken field development is one of the biggest heavy-oil field projects currently under development in the UKCS.
The scope of work includes development of an integrated risk-based maintenance programme, associated repair/replacement strategies and spares holdings.
BuildMETM, Plant Asset Management’s proprietary asset management programme development platform will support the project. It will provide a controlled environment in which to develop the asset hierarchy, assign maintenance, conduct the criticality assessment and spares analysis, and build bills of materials.
