The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), as part of the Research Councils UK (RCUK) Energy Programme, has issued a funding call for collaborative research projects that will investigate novel concepts for marine energy development.
The focus of this call is on wave and tidal energy development from a global perspective.
The overall aims of the call are to:
Up to £3 million is available for this call, with EPSRC looking to fund four to five projects.
As marine energy development is a global initiative, EPSRC would encourage proposals that aim to build new (or build on existing) collaborations with international academic researchers in wave and tidal energy.
For each project application there should be a single submission.
The Institutions involved in the successful application(s) will be expected to become associate members of the SUPERGEN Marine Hub (UK Centre for Marine Energy Research).
In order to focus effort, applicants may only be named on one proposal for this call, either as a Principal Investigator (PI) or as a Co-Investigator (Co-I).
Any applicant intending to submit a proposal to this call must register their intent by submitting an Expression of Interest via the form on the EPSRC call page , by June 17, 2015.
